Why You Need To Use A Toner Daily

For many years, I believed that a toner was merely a filler step with no substance that could simply be skipped, which is why I never bothered to apply one.

I now feel naked if I skip this step in my process, and I'm truly hooked with toners for the following reasons:

REMOVES TOXINS

A toner is used to finish the cleansing process of the skin, effectively eliminating any pollutants that may have remained after washing. Chlorine, minerals, and other environmental toxins are found in tap water, and they will remain on your skin after washing unless you remove them! Toners successfully remove industrial toxins such as smoke, smog, and chemical residues from your skin in addition to water contaminants (something we are all exposed to unfortunately).

This is important for 2 reasons:

#1 These compounds are all harmful to your skin. In fact, they have a negative impact on aging and acne.

#2 These toxins inhibit you from absorbing the products that you DO want on your skin! Everything you apply won't be able to be absorbed if there's a layer of microscopic debris on top of your skin. You're actually letting your products to enter deeper and better by eliminating the superfluous particles from your skin.

PREVENTS INFLAMMATION

More dirt, oil, and pollutants enter the skin through large face pores, causing irritation and inflammation. Toners tighten the pores on your face, allowing fewer oils and impurities to enter the skin. Dead skin cells are also eliminated, which helps to reduce inflammation in addition to removing greasy buildup (AKA the number of blemishes you might get).

DELIVERS NUTRIENTS

To keep your skin healthy and balanced, many toners contain vitamins and other necessary skin nutrients. They're made up of active components like plant extracts and essential oils that are customized to different skin types. There are three types of toners: moisturizing toners, calming and soothing toners, and oil-regulating toners, all of which provide additional advantages to your skin beyond simply cleaning it.

RESTORES pH BALANCE

Our skin is naturally acidic, with a pH balance of between 5 and 6. (on a scale from 0 to 14). However, due to the alkaline nature of soap, that equilibrium might be thrown off after cleansing. When this happens, your skin has to work extra hard to get back to normal (and that may result in oil). Any divergence from the skin's natural pH disrupts the skin's "environment," causing inflammation and irritation; however, applying a toner can swiftly restore this equilibrium.

HOW I USE IT

Since deciding to use it every day, I've noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. My skin has probably improved by a factor of two.

I like to bring my toner in a ziploc bag with some cotton pads and take it with me when I go gym, in addition to using it morning and night. I use it to wipe my skin immediately after my workout (before the perspiration dries). Because I sweat profusely when I workout, this was a game changer for me.

When bacteria generated by sweat combines with dead skin cells to form a clog, it causes skin problems. I've had sweat-induced blockages for years, and toning my skin right after a workout has been such a lifesaver. If you have blemishes and aren't toning after sweating, I'm virtually certain you'll notice a difference if you give this a try!

I like how toners may be used to address a variety of skin issues. For everything from acne to dryness to aging, there are different formulas. A toner for oily face might contain elements that reduce sebum production, while a toner for dry skin might contain more moisturizing components – there's a toner for everyone!

You may not want to add another step to your routine, but trust me when I say that a toner is well worth it and truly enjoyable to use. My skin feels cleaner, fresher, and tighter almost immediately – I'm addicted to the sensation, but the long-term effects are even greater.
