People use various tactics to undermine your sense of self-assurance and agency: religious control, gaslighting and manipulative abuse, spreading libel about you to others, and more. They want to keep you mentally chained because they recognize that the moment you break free from their manipulation, you become a threat in their eyes. This is why it's crucial to muster the courage to choose for yourself what you know will benefit you and to completely disregard "advice" that is designed to make you question yourself.

Sound counsel, rooted in a healthy place, will never hold you back. You must understand that just because someone has an opinion about your life, it doesn’t give them the authority to control you for their own benefit or desire. You have the power to choose whether to remain in a place of comfort and doubt, or, as the Bible tells us, to break free from the spirit of fear and soar like the eagles that run and do not grow weary, with a spirit of power and a sound mind.
